PhD position in Human-Computer Interaction

We are seeking a PhD candidate for research and teaching in the area of human-computer interaction, user experience, and interaction design. The candidate will support administrative activities and conduct self-initiated research activities, including the work on a dissertation. Starting from the third year, independent teaching is expected with the extent of two hours per week.

Your profile:

  • Completed master studies in computer science, psychology, communication science, sociology, design, or similar, preferably with a focus on human-computer interaction
  • Familiarity with the areas of human-computer interaction and user experience is a benefit
  • Experiences with and interest in project work and interdisciplinary work is a plus
  • Willingness to enrol to the PhD program at the University of Salzburg after starting the position

Required personal qualities:

  • Capacity for teamwork, resilience, purposefulness
  • Passion for academic research and teaching
  • Perfect command of English (verbal and written)

Expected duration: 4 years
